Building Permits

The City of Douglas has adopted the North Dakota State Building Code. ALL building projects must adhere to the building code's specifications and regulations.

A building permit is required for building decks, add-on additions, and remodeling that changes the existing structure such as adding or removing walls, and all concrete work.  No building permit is required for residing or roofing projects.

Fence permits are required for building fences.

Moving permis are required to move any structure, including sheds, into or out of the Douglas City limits.

A $10 permit fee and approval by Douglas City Council is required before any building project can be started and/or any structure can be moved into or out of the city limits.
